Methodology
Data sources
- Prices & indices: KRX end-of-day market data (via FinanceDataReader).
- Investor flows: Korea Investment & Securities open API (foreign / institutional / individual net trading). Shown only when available.
Update schedule
Data pages refresh automatically once per trading day after the Seoul close (18:10 KST). The "as of" date on each page is the last completed session.
Definitions
- 52-week position: where the close sits inside the 252-trading-day low–high range (0% = at the low, 100% = at the high).
- N-day return: close-to-close percentage change over the last N trading days.
- Median 20-day return: sector midpoint across our covered names — a rough gauge of sector momentum.
Conventions
Colors follow the Korean market convention: red = up, blue = down — the opposite of Western charts.
Track record and verification
Each trading day we record a structured snapshot of every covered stock: closing price, position in its 52-week range, distance from its moving averages, and five-session cumulative foreign and institutional net buying. Twenty trading sessions later we attach what actually happened to the price. These are observations, not forecasts, and results are published whether or not they flatter us.
Snapshots marked ·retro were computed retrospectively from historical data when the feature launched. They are accurate as facts about those dates, but they were not published at the time — only later snapshots carry a timestamped record.
Value chain and supply relationships
Each covered company is assigned to one stage of its sector's value chain. Supply relationships between covered companies are listed only where we could trace them to a citable source, and are separated into those backed by disclosures or company announcements and those reported by the trade press. Contract values are as contracted, which is not the same as delivered. Relationships that we found to be contradicted by the record are deliberately omitted.
